HEAD OF CONSTRUCTION

  • Scott Quittner is Co-Founder of Ho‘okipa Design & Construction, bringing nearly four decades of hands-on building experience and a deep understanding of how design is realized in practice. A lifelong Santa Barbara local, Scott approaches construction with precision, care, and respect for craft—viewing the building phase as an opportunity to refine and elevate design intent through thoughtful execution.

    Drawn to building from an early age, Scott developed his skills through years of direct, hands-on work across a wide range of construction disciplines. His early experience in tile work established a foundation of technical mastery and an exacting standard of finish. In 1989, he founded T2 Tile Techniques, beginning a career defined by independence, responsibility, and pride in workmanship.

    Licensed as a General Contractor, Scott brings a rare ability to bridge design and construction seamlessly. His understanding of materials, detailing, and long-term performance allows him to enhance projects during execution—introducing subtle, considered details that improve both function and longevity. Guided by a genuine care for how spaces are used and how they endure, Scott builds homes that are deeply considered, beautifully crafted, and made to last.

DANIEL RAMOS

CONSTRUCTION COORDINATOR

  • Daniel serves Ho‘okipa Design & Construction as Construction Coordinator, bringing disciplined organization and steady leadership to the construction process. With a composed, detail-oriented approach, he oversees the daily movement of each project—guiding schedules, resources, and budgets with clarity and precision. His ability to anticipate needs and maintain alignment across teams allows projects to progress smoothly, thoughtfully, and on course.

    A graduate of the University of California, Irvine, Daniel is also a Santa Barbara local with strong ties to the community. He is known for his analytical mindset, clear communication, and ability to manage complexity with ease. These qualities make him a trusted point of continuity throughout construction, ensuring that information flows clearly and decisions are both timely and well-considered.

    Through his attentive oversight and calm presence, Daniel elevates the execution of every project he touches. His commitment to quality, efficiency, and accountability reflects Ho‘okipa’s standard for well-run construction—supporting homes that are delivered with care, precision, and long-term integrity.

ISABEL LARRIBA Assoc. AIA, Allied ASID

PRINCIPAL DESIGNER

  • As Co-Founder and owner of Ho’okipa Design & Construction, Isabel Larriba excels in her field, demonstrating a reliable and unwavering craft dedicated to the cohesive, functional, and inventive manipulation of space. Her thoughtfulness, distinctive Spanish flair, and keen aesthetic eye bring life to any interior setting, consistently producing beautifully calibrated work.

    While studying Law in Galicia, Spain, Isabel felt a clear pull toward more creative and technical disciplines—namely engineering and architecture—which ultimately set her on the path to a successful and fulfilling career in design and construction.

    She went on to complete a rigorous 4-year program in Interior Architecture in Spain before pursuing her Master’s in Interior Design, graduating at the top of her class, Magna Cum Laude. Alongside her strong foundation in interior architecture fundamentals, Isabel has curated a distinctive design voice shaped by her international experience. Though her perspective is predominantly characterized by clean, simple, and timeless aesthetics, she is confident working across a wide range of styles. Her innate creativity and clever approach allow her to push the boundaries of form and function, resulting in a rich body of work that accommodates a diverse clientele.

    In addition to her professional accomplishments, Isabel volunteers her time to the Santa Barbara Contractors Association, where she proudly serves as Vice President. In this leadership role, she actively collaborates with the organization to inspire and nurture the next generation of design and construction professionals through mentorship, outreach, and community engagement.

BRENNA WEST

DESIGNER COORDINATOR

  • Brenna plays a central role at Ho‘okipa Design & Construction as Design Coordinator, bringing a calm intelligence and steady presence to every project. With an intuitive understanding that a home should feel both grounding and quietly inspiring, she helps translate clients’ personal narratives into interiors that feel livable, enduring, and thoughtfully resolved. Working closely with Isabel, she contributes to spaces shaped by authenticity, longevity, and refinement—prioritizing how a home functions and feels over fleeting trends.

    Brenna’s professional path is informed by a deeply people-centered foundation and direct experience working within the construction environment, allowing her to navigate complexity with uncommon clarity and assurance. Her earlier work in recruitment refined her ability to read individuals, guide nuanced conversations, and support confident decision-making in high-stakes moments. This combination gives her a grounded understanding of how design decisions translate in practice—bridging intention with execution.

    At Ho‘okipa, Brenna supports projects across all phases of the design–build process, from early design development through construction and final installation. Her work includes material and finish sourcing, detailed design coordination, and the thoughtful oversight of furnishings from concept through placement. Known for her practicality, decisiveness, and ease with people, she has a particular talent for making difficult decisions feel clear and approachable—helping ensure each home feels cohesive, intentional, and beautifully resolved.
